Kansas 33, Memphis 28 at the Half

Chris Douglas-Roberts has 13 points so far for Memphis and Darrell Arthur’s 10 lead the Jayhawks.

From what I saw, it looked like the Jayhawks had a step on Memphis. And Memphis bricking shots wasn’t helping the Tigers’ cause any. Derrick Rose better get over whatever is ailing him real quick or Memphis is going down.

However, it is only a five-point game. They already overcame their biggest deficit of the tournament with a string of three pointers. It isn’t over; Yet.

Memphis has to do a better job getting back on defense.. Plus they have to cover their man. There appeared to be a few too many open Jayhawks players on offense.

Last thing, that final UM possession demonstrated horrible clock management. They had 1:02 to work with and got absolutely nothing out of it. Just so that they could try and prevent Kansas from scoring before the horn.

But there is still the second half to play, so I could still be right about Kansas choking!

Lightning Get First Pick

The Tampa Bay Lightning won the draft lottery and will pick first overall in this years NHL Entry Draft and a chance to get Steve Stamkos.

The bottom five finishers every season have a chance at the first pick, but this year, the last place team got it this time. The Los Angeles Kings have the No. 2 pick, then the Atlanta Thrashers, St. Louis Blues, and the New York Islanders round out the first five choices. The 2008 NHL Entry Draft will be held from June 20-21 at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa.

Garrard Richest Jag Ever

David Garrard was rewarded for his play last season with a seven year, 60 million dollar contract. It is the largest contract handed out by the Jaguars in their rather short history.

Garrard was given the job after the Jags released former starter Byron Leftwich. Garrard had solid numbers, throwing 18 touchdowns with only three picks and a 102.2 passer rating. In the playoffs he had a key run late in the fourth quarter of their Wild-Card win against the Steelers. Leftwich is currently bouncing around the NFL.

NCAA Mens Final Prediction

I don’t profess to be an NCAA basketball expert by any means. But to humor everyone, I will give my prediction for tonight’s national championship game:

Kansas 74- Memphis 82

I think Memphis has been overlooked just because of their conference.

And Kansas has grown tired of everyone saying they always exit early. So this year they have decided to get to the final game and will now try and pull a championship choke job to rival those of the “University of Ohio State”.
