Stanford Upsets UConn, Will Play Volunteers for Title

The Stanford Cardinal Womens Basketball team is heading to the NCAA championships after an 82-73 win over #1 seed University of Connecticut.

Candice Wiggins fell five assists short of the first triple-double in Womens Final Four history. She finished with 25, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Wiggins already set a record, becoming the first player to have two 40-point games in the same NCAA tournament.

The second-seeded Cardinal will play Tennessee, who edged LSU 47-46, on Tuesday for the national title. Tennessee is the defending national champ.

The Lady Vols-Tigers game set the record for lowest points in Final Four history by one point. LSU has now been to five straight Final Fours; and hasn’t won a game in any of them.
