NCAA Womens Final Prediction

My prediction of a nine-point victory for Memphis looked strong with 2 minutes left last night. I guess next time I’ll make sure I don’t forget to factor in free throws.

As for the Stanford-Tennessee womens game tonight, I again warn you, I do not in any way consider myself an expert in this field. So don’t go betting anything based on my pick:

Cardinal 71-Lady Vols 67

Stanford one in overtime during the season, and Tennessee is only here because of, literally, a last-second put-back. So I think I’ll give the nod to Wiggins’ team over Parker and her higher-seeded group. Plus Parker was named the womens Naismith (Player of the Year) Trophy, and that didn’t help Hansborough and UNC any.

KU National Champs

An overtime victory over Memphis gave the Jayhawks their first NCAA Mens Basketball title in 20 years. It was the seventh time the title game went to overtime. Memphis still finished with the most wins ever in a season in mens college basketball.

And once again the Tigers missed vital free throws in a big game; so much for Calipari’s theory. That gave Mario Chalmers a chance to hit a game-tying three with 2 seconds to go to send it to OT. And once the teams were in the extra frame, Kansas pulled away for a 75-68 win.

But at least freshman Derrick Rose woke up in the second half. He took over the game and gave Memphis a lead.

Sorry I cut this short (And the misprint) before, I had to be somewhere at 8.
