Three goals seems to be the key to winning in the Avalanche-Wild series. In every game but one so far, the team that came out on ended up with three goals.; and every time the winner had three, the loser had two.
Andrew Brunette, Wojtek Wolski and Paul Stastny scored for Colorado. Peter Forsberg and Milan Hejduk each got two assists. Brian Rolston had a goal and an assist and Pierre-Marc Bouchard scored for the Wild.
Jonathan Cheechoo scored two goals and both Joe Pavelski and Patrick Marleau had a goal assist as the Sharks beat the Calgary Flames 4-3 to give them their first series lead, 3-2.
Jarome Iginla had a goal and an assist and Dion Phaneuf tallied two assists for Calgary. Game 6 is at the Pengrowth Saddledome on Sunday.
